You're going to laugh and no this is not a joke. It was girls night out last night and we went about an hour north of here to a club. I talked my husband into letting me borrow his new yukon for our girls night out because it has 3 rows of seats and it's way nicer than my car. I dropped them off at the door and went to park and I wasn't looking and pulled into the spot and opened the door and hit one of those big yellow pole things and put a yellow dent and mark into the door... I used the car again today all day just driving it around and trying to keep it from him as long as I can until I figure out what to do. This is his new '; birthday '; gift he bought himself and I dented the door. I don't want him to flip out and I don't want to get him angry - what can I do? He is one of those '; money doesn't grow on trees, you know '; kind of people and if he finds out he'll flip because he has to '; repair my mistake '; if he doesn't kill me first. Not to mention he's spent the last two weeks washing and making it shiny. I don't know what I'm going to do, I've spent all day worrying. I thought about the '; it's only a car '; thing and I don't want to start that warHow do I tell my husband what I did?
Why don't you just pay to get it fixedHow do I tell my husband what I did?
take it to the repair shop, quick !! . %26amp;sorry to hear what happend.
A man who loves his car more than his wife?
Just tell him it's only a Yukon. Maybe that'll help.
Just tell him. The sooner the better.
He's going to see it. You will only make matters worse by trying to keep it from him (lying?).
Just tell him and get it over with. Everyone makes mistakes, and you are obviously sorry about it.
Park by a yellow work vehicle and say when you came out to leave, you had a dent in your car. Contact the supervisor over the company and their commercial insurance will cover it IF they buy your story.
just be upfront and tell him what happened. If he would really scorn and reject you over something as superficial as a car, maybe he needs to lose a few more material goods before he realizes nothing is made to last, and that its memories/experiences that form the constitution of a fulfilling life.
you can also offer to take it into the shop yourself, clean the paint off, whatever goodwill effort you can do to demonstrate that you do care about his gift to himself.
Just tell him what happened mistakes happened and yes he'll be upset but at least nobody was hurt. Good luck!
