How is the weather like in the beginning of the falls in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon?

We were planing a trip to Vegas and Canyon starting in the last weekend of spring, but something came up and as the prices are higher in the summer and heard that it's too hot to walk around, my husband and I were thinking of going in the first weekend of the Fall, when the prices drop a little again (flights). Is it still hot? I heard in the winter we can get a foggy Grand Canyon and am hoping not getting it in the Falls too. Any tips??

PS: We're from New York City. How is the weather like in the beginning of the falls in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon?
Spring is good and Fall is good it gets a little chill around Halloween. Late September the prices are a little lower around xmas is when the prices are the lowest and the heat is gone .How is the weather like in the beginning of the falls in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon?
Spring and fall are always your best bets for visiting the Grand Canyon. Summer is hot. Period. I've do a lot of my hiking in the GC in fall and for the most part have had fantastic weather. The caveat, however, is that weather at the Canyon is fickle, and that applies to Fall as well (bring a jacket or prepare to layer). Fog...it's possible in Fall, but if you visit in the afternoon it will burn off. It's a fantastic adventure. Have a fantastic trip.
LV is 90 then to the 70 at the end of fall.

GC is about the same. Since the GC is in N AZ it gets cooler in the fall. You can check out the temps on yahoo for that area.

Have fun.
