How do I keep my husband from sleeping on and putting his feet on our new sofa set?

It had been 15 years since we purchased a sofa set. When the decision was made 2 years ago by my husband and I to purchase one it was also discussed and agreed that no sleeping and putting their feet on would occur. Now it seems that almost everyday I'm having to wake my husband up from sleeping on the couch. I expressed my dissatisfaction with him and he promised to stop. However, he continues to sleep on the sofa. As a result, I have considered taking the sofa set to the a storage facility and buying a futon instead. Would that be too drastic? How do I keep my husband from sleeping on and putting his feet on our new sofa set?
get over it control freak, couches are made to be enjoyed. If you wanted a show piece you should just go to store everyday and look at one.How do I keep my husband from sleeping on and putting his feet on our new sofa set?
i think is too drastic...you like the sofa so why get rid of it? just put a cover on the sofa or simply yell at your husband every time you see him sleeping on it =]
James is exactly right.... a recliner would solve everything... but then again... you can let him sleep on the couch... considering you would put it into a storage facility instead of letting him (and you!) enjoy the sofa??????? Eh? Whats the point of the sofa then? Drastic? Yep, absolutely.

I can understand wanting a nice couch... but a futon is the ugliest thing ever created... your attitude causes a lose lose situation for you and your husband.. sorry, I don't get it.

Get in the habit of not wearing shoes in the house and poof. No more shoes on the sofa.

But then again, my life is all about comfort and happiness... why fight over something that is replaceable anyways?
isn't that what a sofa is for? I don't want a couch that i cant sleep on. they are too comfy. great for quick naps. now if he has his shoes on that's a different story
Yeah, Hitler, WAY over the top. Its a sofa, men at times like a little nap on one. Plus, when you said ';we agreed'; it sounded like ';I told him';. See that's just not going to work. Perhaps you simply ask him not to have his shoes on it. Or get him a recliner, Thats where I sit/take my naps, and I stay off the couch. It doesn't even have to be new if cost is a problem. Let him find one, then talk about prices and BOOM! Instand fix.
