Hello. My husband has a terrible problem with snoring. We have tried the spays and the nose-strips and even changing positions. Its really irritating sometimes.. does any one have any suggestions on how to make it stop? How to stop my husband from snoring?
Put a tennis ball under the bedsheet. So anytime he is going to sleep on his back he will sleep on his side. Sleeping on the side eases snoring. After sometime it will become a habit and he will sleep on his side. Then you can remove the ball. How to stop my husband from snoring?
Do not do what the woman in the UK did and put two tampons up his nose (1 each nostril) she did get a good nights sleep but woke up next to a dead guy with tampons up his nose..
there is a sujjestion but its quite a much irritating.....ask ur husband to sleep on a chair and then when he sleeps he wont snore and then the irritating thing is u have to put him on the bed and laid down....this will work...
i honestly doubt whether there is. i decided long ago you either live with it, or have separate bedrooms. the added bonus with separate rooms are you get all the bed to yourself [well most of the time] they won't nick the duvet, and best of all extra wardrobe space, sheer bliss.
Your husband has sleep disorder called ';sleep apnoea';.this is a common disorder that causes disruptive sleep and leads to other serious, potentially life-altering and life-threatening conditions. Left untreated, he may feel tired or sleepy during the day and have increased risk of the following:
1. Decreased quality of life
2. High blood pressure
3. Heart disease and heart attack
4. Stroke
5. Fatigue-related motor vehicle and work accidents
He should see a sleep specialist who can prescribe a positive airway pressure device to treat sleep apnoea.
You may notice that your husband stops breathing for a period during his snoring then makes a big snort which may wake him up. This is very dangerous and can result in death if he doesn't start breathing. You may have heard of a small child dying in his/her sleep, ';crib death'; . The same thing can happen to an adult but instead of ';crib death'; it's know as ';sleep apnoea';.
Good Luck!!
The remedies that your husband used are not so efficient. I recommend you the stop snoring mouthpiece.
As a snorer changes positions and doesn't stop snoring, it is not a problem of air passages obstruction. Here the problem is more likely to be a lack of tightness in the vocal tendons. The mouthpiece would fix it because it exerts a small effort on both jaws in order to make these tendons more stretched. So they would not vibrate anymore, the bad sound of snoring ceases and you would enjoy peaceful nights with your husband.
